Accolades from our CFO Network members
"The CFO Network is vital to my personal and professional development individually as an indigenous Trans Woman of color, first generation college graduate, immigrant and emerging leader in my QTPI (Queer and Trans Pacific Islander) Community. Serving in my first management role of my career as the Operations Manager for UTOPIA Seattle, a grassroots organization that is Trans led and Trans founded, I believe in empowering and cultivating Trans Leadership across all industries and it is inspiring for me to see Trans people in key positions, calling the shots! The network provides a support system for me that helps to support me in my role through shared resources, exchange of dialogue, and an exposure to unique cases happening across the organizational leadership of our national LGBT community that may or may not apply directly to my organization, but helps to keep me attuned to the possible threats that we could face. Being part of the CFO Network also helps to reinforce for me that I am where I need to be because I get to build connections with, learn from and grow with other LGBT leaders with direct pathways to executive leadership roles."
- Donato Fatuesi, Operations Manager, UTOPIA Seattle
“Ever since I've been doing Finance & Operations, I'd never had the opportunity to attend an in-person conference before last year. It was so wonderful to meet people doing the same work as me! My org applied for 4 PPP loans. 2 of them were as a direct result of referrals from our CFO network and one of those is the one that was funded. This group got us our funding!! From our most recent call, I feel empowered to advocate more strongly with my ED around compliance issues. The network has referred me to some very useful webinars and resources that I did not hear about from anywhere else. This is a smart, resourceful, experienced group that provides much needed support around some pretty tedious details. I truly feel like I am part of a community now.”
- Jennifer Grant, Director of Finance and Operations, San Francisco LGBT Center
"From the very first conference I participated in 8 years ago, I've formed professional connections and friendships with peers in similar (and different) organizations that have supported me in my professional growth and many of my day-to-day challenges. Knowing there's a group of friendly, up-beat colleagues across the country to lean on in challenging times is absolutely invaluable. For example, during the COVID crisis, the "CFO network" that has formed from these conferences was utterly priceless to me (and everyone else!) as we all knowledge-shared as fast as fresh information was available. From basic accounting questions, to HR/operations best practices, policy sharing and general discussion, this group is one of the best features of my professional life!"
